Design and implement large-scale clinical improvement programmes across Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire (34 member organisations and industry) to upscale nationally. Using my skills and knowledge of healthcare technology and innovation industry I developed and delivered (end-to-end) on key improvement programmes. As Business Intelligence Manager I am responsible for the business intelligence function of Strategic Clinical Networks, ensuring all programmes/projects are evidence based, using appropriate data sources and analytical tools/techniques, while also keeping ahead of new changes in legislations/regulations working closely with Caldicott Guardian and IG Lead.
Brought into a crisis situation by the Deputy Director for EU Exit and successfully delivered a highly sensitive, multi-supplier digital transformation programme for Defra (working to GDS Standards), the programme was time boxed and had to be delivered within the remaining 4 months to enable £7.8 billion worth of trade to continue for the UK (high volume/value public facing Digital Service with MS Dynamics CRM Solution). I am directly responsible for managing the team of 80+ highly skilled specialist (4 scrum teams made up of 3 Java teams & 1 MS dynamics (from Portugal)), along with an independent UAT team (from the Home Office) and our Service Transition/Business Readiness Team.
Responsible for the delivery of a (multi-million pound) digital transformation programme ‘Access to Service Information’ using agile (working to GDS Standards). This national programme is critical to Digital Urgent and Emergency Care (DUEC), with my programme developing and maintaining the digital Directory of Services (DoS), which includes all national health care services providing Urgent and Emergency Care, linking to 999 and 111 telephony service and 111 online, urgent treatment centres etc. Below are the multiple product teams (squads) I am responsible for developing and delivering Digital Services for Urgent and Emergency Care nationally.
Working with SCN Executive Team, responsible for reviewing and developing the business infrastructure to enable the effective management of 5 clinical networks and the governance/reporting of over 120+ Quality Improvement Programmes /Projects, while ensuring the effective use of my Business Intelligence Team.
Delivering ‘Pay the NHS BSA’ Programme (multi-billion pound services). This includes the digitisation of all payment methods in the NHS BSA and meeting all financial regulatory requirements such as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and BACS. The projects were delivered to Government Digital Services standards where GDS assessments take place before the project can continue through the stage gates. The programme benefited the NHS Loss/Debt Recovery Services, NHS Pension Service and NHS Student Bursaries.
The adoption of digital technology to enable organisational transformation by creating efficiencies within internal processes, whilst also providing greater integration into the wider health system.
In touch kiosk (patient booking system) – implementation of self-check in for patients. system allows quick and easy self-check using kiosk.
Printer rationalisation – project to replace old printers for new, modern, faster and cheaper to run devices. taking out devices that have low usage or where there is a saturation of devices.
Utilisation management and transition projects (cutover plans) demand & capacity planning/projecting. service level agreements (SLA’s), relocation/rebuild, software/ it, people/resource planning.
ERP implementation – implementation of a paper free system/way of working within healthcare including corporate departments, scanning of patient case notes.
Interoperability and digital transformation program - Using IM1, FHIR ability to provide timely and accurate information. Working with system suppliers to provide interoperability between systems.
Data Centre Migration - Large scale server migration with SQL server upgrade and configuration including migration of 14 years of live and archive SQL data.
Master Patient Index - Centralised Index of patient details from across multiple systems and sources.
Power BI full life-cycle transformation, introducing new source system, gateway, dataflows, certified datasets and rolling out Power BI reports to the trust. KPI tracking/monitoring, dashboard development (web, Access or Excel), Cognos, Power BI, report manager, data analysis and benchmarking (NHS/ONS data).
Programme transformation - designing and implementing a new management system (ISMS) to help improve operational efficiency and information security posture. Delivering strategic objectives, steering executives and senior managers towards sustaining and maturing the new operating model to help deliver secure and consistent services.
EPR - major clinical transformation Programme for the Whole of MFT(Manchester Foundation Trust) which included 6 hospital sites. Enable Hospitals and Managed Clinical Services to change and improve how they deliver services and support better clinical decision making. Allow staff to work more efficiently by accessing the information they need to care for patients wherever and whenever they need and promoting the introduction of more digitally enabled interaction with our patients and users of our service.
Technology transformation – introduction and development of new technology software to transform a traditional healthcare recruitment company into a tech-enabled staffing solution. Working with offshore team to design, develop and implement bespoke CRM and Mobile Application.
Patient Care Quality Clinical Audit Tool – Development of a intelligent digital audit process to identify, audit quality of care and audit clinical assessment of patients.
Unified Communications Programme - Replacement of numerous systems across the trust with a single, unified telephony platform.
Implementation of a new patient level costing system/ data warehouse for finance and business intelligence departments.
